Arnaud Dubois

Arnaud Dubois is a Professor of History of Art and Design at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Art de Limoges (France) and a research fellow at CNAM-HT25 and EnsadLab.
He is a team member of the ERC project Chromotope.

Biography

He holds a doctorate in social anthropology from the EHESS and a MFA from the École des Beaux-arts de Paris. Arnaud Dubois was an invited researcher at the Musée du Quai Branly, a postdoctoral fellow of the Fyssen Fondation at University College London and an invited curator at the Musée des Arts et Métiers. His research centres on the anthropology of colour, the relations between aesthetics, technology and society, as well as the link between arts, crafts, and industry. He has conducted long term fieldwork in France with colour practitioners and archival research on colour practices at international museums of contemporary art, anthropology, and science and technology in France, Switzerland, the U.S. and the U.K. Arnaud Dubois will co-lead the research seminar ‘Art and Crafts of Colour in 19thCentury Europe’.
