INetwork's integration Year: 2020
RArchivistics, History, Medievalistics
The ORESM project aims to create an aggregative web portal for data from a variety of databases on the life and history of students, teachers and other people linked to the university of Paris in the Middle Ages (1200-1600).
It is jointly carried by the Inter-university Sorbonne Library (BIS) and the Occidental Medievistic Laboratory from Paris (LaMOP – UMR 8589).
The DIM-STCN’s support allows the project team to work towards building the first step of this web portal, that is the virtual articulation of several archives of the Université de Paris, which are currently scattered between the BIS, the National Archives (Paris) and the Inter-university Health Library (BIU Santé). This articulation will be made available in a methodic inventory that aims to restore the original coherence to this heritage collection. The inventory will be built on exports from Calames (French online catalog of archives and manuscripts of higher education) for the BIU Santé and the BIS’ data, and from the National Archives’ SIV (Virtual Inventory Room). It will eventually be available in XML-EAD, thus meeting the archival standards in use in cultural institutions, and on the internet.
